“Women Illustrate the Torah” Explores the Daughters of Zelophehad

Project Kesher Israel’s Petah Tikva women’s group gathered for another session of the “Women Illustrate the Torah” series, led by artist Galina Shevtsova. Participants explored the story of the daughters of Zelophehad, whose courage and determination helped change Jewish law in the name of justice, inspiring a discussion on the power of women’s voices and the enduring relevance of Torah narratives.

The session concluded with a hands-on art workshop, where participants created textured symbolic works reflecting themes of justice, dignity, and unity. Through learning and creativity, the gathering offered a meaningful opportunity to connect with Jewish tradition while celebrating women’s leadership and self-expression.
