Memories of Our Community at Home

Project Kesher is saddened to share the passing of two of our early board members. Geraldine (Gerry) Macsai was an Evanston, IL neighbor of PK founder, Sallie Gratch, and was actively involved in PK's 1994 International Conference of Jewish Women which helped kick off this organization's engagement of women in the US, Israel and countries of the former Soviet Union. Gerry went on to serve multiple terms on the board and is remembered fondly for her warmth and sense of humor.  Linda F. Vogel Kaplan came to Project Kesher later and was part of the Voyage on the Volga. With Sheila Lambert and Nancy Solomon, she helped secure a Torah from Congregation Rodeph Sholom in New York and helped underwrite its placement in Kerch, Ukraine. Linda also served multiple terms on the board. May their memories be a blessing.
