From a Family Hobby to an International Brand: Anzy Home
Founded by Anna Zmiievska, a Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine (WOF-UA) grantee, Anzy Home grew from a family initiative into an international home décor brand, creating jobs for Ukrainian women and exporting products to the U.S., Europe, and Canada.
The business began after Anna’s family was displaced from eastern Ukraine in 2014. Her mother returned to her passion for knitting, and Anna recognized the potential to turn handmade décor into a sustainable business. Despite skepticism, Anna left a stable career in 2019 to fully commit to building her brand.
Following the full-scale invasion in 2022, production was relocated, but the company endured. Today, Anzy Home provides flexible, fairly paid work to women — prioritizing those who are internally displaced, single mothers, and retirees — with both in-studio and remote opportunities.
In 2024, Anna received one of the largest grants from WOF-UA’s ‘Create Your Own’ program, enabling expansion, increased exports, and new opportunities for employment. Anzy Home continues to grow as a model of entrepreneurship rooted in resilience and social impact.
