Women’s Opportunity Fund Sends Kharkiv Leader to Conference in France
Thanks to a travel grant from the Women’s Opportunity Fund (WOF-UA), rising Jewish leader Anna Fredriksen represented Ukraine in Marseille, France, at the International Hineni Conference, tailored for young Jewish leaders across Europe. As a conference speaker, Anna offered testimony on the challenges of maintaining Jewish life in Kharkiv amidst the war, detailing how communities use creative strategies to overcome the threats and dangers, now part of daily life.
The grant made it possible for Anna to connect with Jewish peers from France, Poland, Israel, Australia and beyond. Not only does this work enhance much-needed dialogue and identity-building, but it creates the opportunity for new ideas, solutions and projects, facilitating a network of international support.
Anna described the experience as transformative. Her participation reflects WOF-UA’s commitment to ensuring that even during times of crisis, women leaders from Ukraine have the resources and platforms they need to lead change.
