Helping Israeli Immigrants and Refugees Safeguard Their Rights

On May 13, Project Kesher Israel (PKI) hosted a webinar to help immigrant and refugee women better understand Israeli law as  a means of safeguarding their rights and wellbeing. Led by legal expert, Brigitta Ziebenberg, it focused on preparing for unforeseen events through marriage and civil partnership contracts, divorce agreements, lasting power of attorney, wills, alimony, bankruptcy and pension arrangements.

Drawing from her extensive experience, Brigitta shared real-life cases where well-prepared agreements allowed women to reclaim their freedom and security. Participants engaged actively, eager to understand how Israel’s legal framework differed from their countries of origin.

Another session is planned to continue this important conversation, helping those who have made aliya live meaningful, joyful lives in Israel.
