Meet Project Kesher Ukraine’s Ella Honcherova
Ella Honcharova, Project Manager of the Visiting Moms initiative at Project Kesher Ukraine (PKU), has dedicated her life to uplifting women and strengthening Jewish identity. Born and raised in Dnipro in a halakhic Jewish family, Ella grew up steeped in Jewish traditions, instilled with a profound sense of pride in her heritage, despite being the only Jewish student at her school and university.
With a background in cultural programming and Jewish education, Ella’s journey with PKU began while leading a Jewish Sunday School, where she founded a mothers' club that later transformed into a PKU women’s group. Over the years, she has been a devoted volunteer, advancing through leadership training and spearheading initiatives in women’s economic and legal literacy. However, her greatest passion is the Visiting Moms project—an innovative program designed to empower new mothers through active listening and encouragement.
Beyond her work, Ella finds inspiration in her children, her four cherished grandchildren and her love for embroidery—a treasured creative outlet. Through every project she leads, she brings warmth, wisdom and a commitment to helping women thrive.
