Help Rebuild the Destroyed Youth Film School in Central Ukraine

Last night, a Russian missile strike completely destroyed Contrabas Movie School — the only film studio and creative education center in central Ukraine. The vibrant space where hundreds of children learned, filmed, and created was reduced to rubble in seconds.

For five years, Contrabas nurtured young talent: more than 900 students completed programs, 250 children attended classes each year, and over 25,000 kids visited for their first filmmaking experience. The school was built entirely by a young family, Oleksandra and Ruslan Teslenko, who poured their lives into creating this community space.

Now, everything is gone — equipment, materials, archives, and the home of a thriving youth community.

Project Kesher Ukraine supported Contrabas in 2023 through a mini-grant, and today we are asking for urgent help to get them back on their feet. A contribution of $2,500 would provide a temporary workspace, basic furniture, and essential resources to restart classes.
