Ukrainian Cinema at the Heart of Europe

With support from WOF-UA, filmmaker and screenwriter Kateryna Paida presented her Ukrainian-Polish short film Venus Doesn’t Die Alone at the Linz International Short Film Festival in Austria this October.

Kateryna also participated in the Short Film LAB, gaining mentorship, co-production opportunities, and valuable connections for future projects. Her pitching session in Linz marked the first step toward the Film Talent Academy — and, if selected, her next stop will be the Marché du Film at Cannes 2026.

Through initiatives like this, the Women’s Opportunity Fund continues to support Ukrainian artists and entrepreneurs who represent their country’s creative voice on the global stage.
