E-Bike Booster Brings Relief to Zelenodolsk's Healthcare Heroes
Project Kesher Ukraine’s Women's Opportunity Fund (WOF-UA) has introduced its “E-Bike Booster” project to the Ukrainian community of Zelenodolsk, procuring electric bicycles for the heroic healthcare workers who have refused to evacuate the city, just kilometers from Russian-occupied territory.
E-bicycles dramatically reduce travel times for Ukrainian healthcare workers, who make house calls to reach patients in remote areas of the country. In the last year, WOF-UA has supplied more than 160 electric bicycles to clinicians across the regions of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv, helping them continue reaching patients even in areas that have sustained considerable damage during the war.
Zelenodolsk's mayor, Dmytro Nevesely, emphasized the importance of Project Kesher’s work, noting that the city has been hoping to find such a partner since 2022.
While Zelenodolsk has faced relentless attacks from Russia, its parks are thriving and a newly renovated health clinic is set to open in the future, exemplifying the remarkable resilience of the community and country as a whole.
