Electric bicycles sent to support nurses in Donetsk region of Ukraine

In war-torn countries with difficult terrain, electric bicycles are one of the best tools that can be given to nurses and other medical professionals, to help them reach their patients. Project Kesher Ukraine’s e-bikes, designed for rough terrain, are already making a significant impact, reducing travel time between patients by 75% and serving approximately 13,200 patients monthly across multiple communities.

Project Kesher Ukraine (PKU) has partnered with the International Council of Nurses (ICN) to support nurses in the Donetsk region of Ukraine with the delivery of e-bikes. The program has provided 10 electric bicycles to nurses in Kramatorsk, enabling them to reach vulnerable populations more efficiently.

ICN's support, part of their #NursesforPeace campaign, underscores its commitment to Ukrainian nurses amidst challenging circumstances. Dr. Pamela Cipriano, ICN President, anticipates that this collaboration will greatly enhance healthcare access in the Donetsk region and looks forward to future partnerships with Project Kesher Ukraine.
