Response to the Kakhovka Dam Disaster

Dear Project Kesher community,

Thank you to those of you who gave to our Emergency Fund for Ukraine in response to the Kakhovka Dam disaster. As we shared this week, the destruction of the dam has left many dead, hundreds stranded, and hundreds of thousands of people without normal access to drinking water. Project Kesher Ukraine and our partner groups are at the forefront of the humanitarian response, making grants for $70,000 over a period of two days.

Project Kesher Ukraine is:

1) Providing 1,000 first aid kits to residents of the Kherson region.

2) Transferring $10,000 to the Mykolaiv Territorial Community for the purchase of 800 food packages for people evacuating to Mykolaiv.

3) Purchasing 13 units of pumps to get water out of flooded basements in Kherson. We have access to 80 units and are working with our partners to purchase the rest.

4) Supplying 10,000 bottles of water to families in need. For context, the UN announced that it was distributing 12,000 bottles.

More help is urgently needed. Please consider donating to our Emergency Fund for Ukraine to help families affected by this crisis.

Sincerely,
Karyn G. Gershon
