PKR Activists Introduce Holocaust Education Workshops

Project Kesher Russia activist Julia Yershova led an online training seminar titled “Holocaust Memorial Week” for 162 educators in Kursk, Russia. Organized by the Kursk Institute for Educational Development, the seminar became a basis for training teachers around the Kursk region to conduct workshops about the Holocaust.

Julia’s presentation highlighted the use of stories, statistics, films, and short videos to help students understand and reflect on the Holocaust. She received overwhelming support. The participants strongly agreed that this education is essential to prevent similar tragedies in future. One educator wrote, “Thank you so much for your moving, sensitive, and very emotional speech. You spoke from the heart. If possible, please send me the materials you mentioned."

Since Julia’s initial seminar, the syllabus has been sent to 34 schools across the region so that they can host similar workshops.
