Hosting a Documentary Screening and Discussion with its Director

Last week, Project Kesher Israel (PKI) LGBTQ groups from Ramat Gan, Petach Tikva and Bat Yam gathered in Tel Aviv for a special screening of the documentary You, My Love. This award-winning film tells the deeply moving stories of LGBTQ women who grew up in ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities, navigating their identities in a world that often refused to accept them.

The screening, made accessible with Russian subtitles thanks to PKI, was followed by a thought-provoking panel with filmmaker Ilil Alexander as well as PKI CEO Rabbi Olya Weinstein, theatre professional Sonya Soloviev, and PKI LGBTQ Program Director Anna Talisman. The discussion sparked profound questions on LGBTQ acceptance in different branches of Judaism, creating a space where participants felt at ease.
