Project Kesher's English Language program helps leaders throughout Russia, Ukraine and Belarus improve their oral communication skills. This is so important because Project Kesher believes that grassroots activists should not have to speak English to succeed, but know that it can be an important skill for activists who want to become more engaged in global and national initiatives. Activists benefit by listening and responding in conversation. American women who have participated in the program have seen that meeting once a week by Skype for a 45 minutes to an hour session leads to noticeable results. Moreover, it leads interesting cultural exchanges and often deep personal connections between the partners.
