Project Kesher, under a grant from UJA-Federation of New York, recently completed a study of leadership needs in the Jewish community of the CIS.

    The goals:

    • to identify the leadership characteristics and skills necessary to meet the needs of the Jewish community in the CIS; and
    • to investigate how these needs can be met through training.

213 representatives of Jewish organizations working in the CIS and 39 senior Jewish communal professionals took part in the survey. Their recurring questions:

  • How do we engage intelligent, employed, and currently unaffiliated Jews?
  • How can we harness the potential of outstanding representatives of the Jewish people?
